The RightTrack gossip column is up and running!
It is getting to that time of year where athletes begin to commit to a College in the US. After a host of talks and discussions with different coaches, the big decision for who they will choose to spend the next stage of their athletic career needs to be made, and our student-athletes are involved in talks with some major universities.
Reynold Banigo
First up! Reynold Banigo.
Rumour has it that some heavy hitters are in for the British Long Jump Champion…with the likes of Iowa, University of Georgia (UGA), Texas Tech, to name a few!
The jumper is assured to be a considerable presence in the NCAA, and we have big tips on him being a contender for the title in 2022! We will wait to see where he decides is the best fit for him.
Izzi O’Brien
After coming out of lockdown with some strong performances, Izzi is in talks with a variety of Colleges. Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Southern Methodist University (SMU), Portland State, Eastern Michigan, and Tennessee Tech are all said to be trying to lure the distance athlete into competing in their school colours.
Joe O’Brien
Joe is a hot prospect in the distance section, which has Tulsa, Iona, Missouri, Michigan, Boise, Wake Forest, and Stanford, leading in recruiting him for 2022. Rumour has it that discussions have reached advance stages, and an announcement will be made shortly of which university has signed Joe.
Beatrix Wraith
Beatrix Wraith has held discussions with Bradley, Tennessee Tech, and Purdue but is yet to commit to a college Officially. Could we see a last-minute attempt from another College to sign the talented 800m runner?
Sam Reardon
Sam Reardon has had an emphatic summer making his Team GB debut and is on course to continue developing as he takes on the US. After such impressive performances, there appear to be several Colleges monitoring the progress. Stanford, Harvard, Washington, Georgetown, and Kentucky, are all expressing interest in the 400m athlete.
